January-February 1962 - Judith's brother, Eric Lindbloom, once remarked that early on, Judith was as much a writer as she was a painter. Indeed, throughout her life, she filled dozens of composition books with a distinctive blend of free associative automatic writing, surreal aphorisms, prose poetry and journaling. Her earlier efforts were composed on a typewriter, such as the dozen pages reproduced here. In later decades, Judith would return to these works as a source for painting titles, evidenced by her underlining and annotations.
